    Solberg Divorce Case
The still pending divorce suit of Clara Anna Solberg against Andrew O. Solberg was before Judge Jacobs yesterday, and he granted Mrs. Solberg’s prayer to the extent that he gave her the quiet and peacable possession of her home during the further progress of the case, and ordered her husband to keep away from her, and also to pay either to the court or to her attorney $25 suit money and enough in addition to support her and her child till the case is finally decided. Andreas Solberg, who is named as a co-defendant in the suit, though not as a “co-respondent.” was also ordered to desist from disturbing Mr. Solberg in any way.

    An Unexpected End.
Some startling Testimony by Mrs. Solberg in Her Divorce Case.

The now notorious Solberg divorce case came to an unexpected conclusion yesterday. A divorce was granted, not to Mrs. Solberg, who brought the suit, but to the defendant, her husband. This appears to be due to a unique development in the case yesterday, when Clara Anna Solberg filed a most unusual affidavit, not against her husband, H. O. Solberg, but against herself. In it she freely and in great detail admits numerous acts of marital infidelity n her part within the last six months. Thye names of the men with whom she has practiced her amours are given by her as Peter Kittelson, C. L. Smith and Alfred Peterson. The language of the affidavit is so plain spoken as to render it unfit for publication.

A stipulation was also filed, signed by both parties to her divorce, stating that all property rights had been settled by agreement between them, and that it would not be necessary for the court to make any order on that score; also that it had been agreed between them that in case a divoce was granted the father should have custody of the child, Arne Henrik Solberg.

In conformity with this stipulation Judge Jacobs awarded the custodymof the child to Mr. Solberg.

A well authenticated story in connection with the case is to the effect that when the well-known notary before whom Mrs. Solberg acknowledged her affidavit, surprised at such an avowal of her own infamy, questioned her to find out whether she understood the meaning of certain terms and phrases used, he had his bashful sensibilities shocked and paralyzed by her translation of them unto words that could not be misunderstood.

    Signed Away Her Child.
Mrs. Solberg Accuses an Absent Attorney of Misleading Her.

People may have vainly imagined that they were through hearing about the unsavory Solberg divorce case when Mrs. Solberg’s strange confession of infamy was filed and the decree of divorce was signed, but not so. Clara Ann Solberg, the wife in the case, yesterday filed a sensational petition asking for a vacation of the order of adoption made last month by virtue of which the custody of her little child was given to Andrew. O. Solberg.

The grounds on which Mrs. Solberg makes this application are peculiar, to say the least. She states that on July 2, about a week before the order of adoption was signed, she called at the office of Frank H. Knapp, the attorney who then had charge of her divorce suit against Andrew O. Solberg. She states that Mr. Knapp appeared “confused and in a hurry;” that he hastily presented two papers to her asking her to sign them, and insisting that she sign them at once; that she cannot read, being totally unacquainted with written language, and knew nothing whatever of the contents of the papers, which, nevertheless, at his request she signed supposing them to be some necessary forms in connection with her divorce case. Not till weeks afterward, she says, did she learn that one of the two papers thus blindly signed was a petition to the court for an order granting her husband leave to adopt her little child, Earl Carpenter, and permission to change the child’s name.

The petition was duly presented in court, and on July 10 the order of adoption was granted and signed. Now Mrs. Solberg claims that Mr. Solberg has taken the child and placed it in the care of strangers who are totally incapable of giving it proper care. She therefore asks that the order of adoption may be vacated with a view to giving the child back to her.
