• Minneord / Nekrolog: 10 Jul 1968; Sammamish Valley News • July 10, 1968 Nels V. Hanson, father of Mrs. Roland Pearson of Redmond, died July 4 at the age of 77. He had lived in Carnation. Mr. Hanson, a native of Sweden, came to the United States in 1911 and lived in Wisconsin for a short time before coming to Seattle where he worked for the University of Washington. He was a logger in the earl 20’s in the Snoqualmie Valley before purchasing his Carnation farm. He also worked for the King County Road District before retiring in 1956, Surviving besides Mrs. Pearson are two sons, Ray D., Kirkland, and Edwin V., Edmonds, and four other daughters, Mrs. Melvin Hetzler, Seattle; Mrs. Leonard Bosma and Mis Dale Wald, Carnation, and Mrs. Ralph Enbgle, Olympia. Also surviving is his sister, Mrs. Carrin Anderson, of Seattle, and 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three brothers and one sister still reside in Sweden. Services were July 8 at Green’s Chapel of the Valley with interment at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park.
