  		Esther Hildegard Wassather, nee Moline (1916-1992) - Obituary (Litchfield Independent Review, 4 June 1992) Esther H. Wassather Esther (Moline) Wassather passed away at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale on Thursday, May 21, 1992, at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 26 days. She had had open heart surgery on May 11. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 26 at the Washburn McReavy Welander Quist-Duschane Chapel, 4239 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale, With Pastor Eric Gustavson officiating. Bill Moline sang two solos. Rosella Moline and Harland Anderson each delivered a eulogy in memory of Esther. Pallbearers were Arne Karlson, Bjorner Karlson, Harland Anderson, Robert Eckstein, David Moline and William Moline. Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal. Esther Hildegard Moline was born in Minneapolis to William and Christine Moline on March 25, 1916. In May, 1917 she moved With her parents to a farm north of Dassel, near Big Swan Lake. She grew up on the farm and attended District #6 Big Swan Laken Elementary School and the South Kingston Covenant Church Sunday School. She graduated from Dassel High School in 1935 and the Hutchinson Teacher Training Dept. in 1936. Following graduation from Teachers Training, she taught school in Meeker, McLeod and Anoka Counties. She taught two years in her home district, Big Swan Lake District #6. She was employed as a waitress at the Young Quinlan restaurant in Minneapolis for several years and also worked in other restaurants. In February, 1942, she was married to William Eckstein in Minneapolis. Robert and Nancy Eckstein were born to this union. In May, 1956, she was married to Birger Wassather in Minneapolis. She had made her home in Crystal since the late 1950's. Following retirement, she and her husband, Birger, spent the winter months in Mission, TX Survivors include her husband, Birger; daughter, Nancy C. Bloms and husband, Jerry, of Orono; son, Robert W. Eckstein, and wife, Bonnie, of Brooklyn Park; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Halger W. Moline of Minneapolis; one sister, Verna E. Anderson of Litchfield (formerly of Dassel); many nieces and nephews; and friends also survive. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bill; one brother, Bertil Moline in Dec., 1985; two sisters, Edith Moline in Nov., 1935, and Agnes Provo in Feb., 1991.
