  Beskrivelse av familie		Maurice James Provo (1921-1982) - Grandpa Morrie - Story by Rick Dahl.pdf Morrie used to call me up when I was 13 or so, and ask if I wanted to drive out to uncle Bertil's in Dassel and go fishing for the weekend. He’d tell me we could go under one condition, I would have to drive. One time when I was driving we went thru Buffalo (our normal route thru the back roads) and when we went past the court house a police car pulled out behind us. I got nervous and asked grandpa what he wanted me to do, he laughed and told me to be calm and drive. We never did get stopped. Another time when I was about 14 we (I drove) went to his mother’s cabin in Outing MN. When we were up there, one night I asked if he would ride into town with me. He reached in his pocket pulled out his keys, tossed them to me and told me to drive careful. That was the first time I ever drove on public streets by myself! We also raised rabbits for the meat but they turned into pets. We ended up with 75-100 rabbits. Each day before school I would feed them two, three pound coffee cans full of pellets. It pains me to write this but by the grace of god I did finally see him shortly before he passed away. At the time I was drinking pretty heavy. Grandpa was in a nursing home and I kept putting off to go see him. I don't know why I put it off. One thing that was pretty selfish is it hurt me so much to see him on oxygen for his emphysema. My last visit to see him he asked me to come back later with the mobile home and we would go riding like we did when I was a kid. I said "Grandpa, Grandma won't let me take the camper to come down here." He said I was right. As we sat and talked I remember tears growing in my eyes because I knew he would pass on soon. To me he was everything that a grandson could ask for in a grandpa. When I think of him I recall those peaceful days of sitting in a boat fishing and just talking about what ever comes to mind.
