James Albert Loeffler (1936-2018) - Obituary (The Wichita Eagle, Wichita, Kansas, 23 Nov 2018, Fri) Loeffler, Dr. James A.
82, made his transition into heaven on November 16, 2018. A service to honor Jim’s life will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st St. N.
He was born on June 23, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland to James and Marjorie Loeffler. He had three loves during his life: his family, the University of Notre Dame, and service to others. He married Carol Jane Croucher on August 23, 1957, and together, they raised four children. While he was a student at the University of Notre Dame, he found his love for Notre Dame football, his faith which allowed him to become a reverent follower of Christ, as well as his purpose in life: service to others.
Jim graduated from The University of Cincinnati Medical School in 1963, and since then served others through his 50 years as a physician, and his 30 years of service for the Guadalupe Clinic in Wichita where he served on the board of directors. He especially enjoyed meeting and selling tickets for the Guadalupe Clinic’s annual baseball fundraiser to the parishioners of Wichita each summer since he founded the event in 1989.
Preceded in death by his brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Kathleen (Britt) Dockery, and Colleen (Dr. Venki) Paramesh; sons, Scott (Nina) Loeffler, and Kevin (Karen) Loeffler; brothers, Robert (Mary Ann) Loeffler and Charles (Mary Barb) Loeffler; sister, Barbara (Dennis) Goulden; and grandchildren, Nelson Dockery, Catherine Loeffler, Nicole Dockery, Patrick Loeffler, Shannon Paramesh, and Steven Loeffler.
In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation can be made to Guadalupe Clinic, 940 S St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67211, and Newman University Advancement Office for the Bishop Gerber Science Center, 3100 McCormick St. Wichita, KS 67213.
