William Kenneth "Ken" McIntyre, 91, of Highland, died at his home Saturday. He served as a missionary for 34 years with the Division of Foreign Missions of Assemblies of God. During his 10 year tenure in Cuba, he served as secretary and treasurer on the board and as director of the Bible school. McIntyre spent 20 years in Spain and was one of the founders of the Assemblies of God in that country, serving as its first superintendent. He also spent a year in France and Morocco. He was a member of Highland First Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, Martha McIntyre. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be Monday afternoon at 2 at the First Assembly of God in Highland. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Heath Funeral Home's Oak Hill Chapel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 this afternoon at the funeral home.
The family has asked that persons wishing to leave a lasting memorial in lieu of flowers consider Highland First Assembly of God, designated for the support of the Assemblies of God foreign missions Bible schools. |

William McIntyre, 91, formerly of Cando, died Sept. 25, 1999, in Highland, Ark.
William Kenneth McIntyre was born June 9, 1908, the son of John and Thilda (Berkadahl) McIntyre, in Rolette County, N.D. At the age of 4, he lived with Ed and Carrie McIntyre, later moving to Cando, N.D., where he graduated from high school in 1927. He attended North Central Bible School, Minneapolis. He married Martha Henrikson. They lived in North Dakota until entering the Assembly of God Foreign Missionary Service, serving in Cuba, Spain, France and Marocco. After retiring, they lived in Texas and Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife. He was preceded in death by brothers, Loyd and Stanley. Services: Were held in Highland. Burial: Highland Cemetery. |
